More Bombings

Good afternoon.
Today at least 22 people, mostly civilians, were killed when a man blew up his explosive laden truck at a police station in Baghdad. Thirty people were also injured and a couple dozen cars and some businesses were badly damaged.
One US marine and 6 Iraqi policemen were also killed in seperate attacks today.
Like most Americans I spent this day outside enjoying the beautiful weather, how about you?
Today's Killings 18 (So Far)

Good Morning,
You may recall that 15 Sunni members were included in the panel who are to draft the new US Backed Shite dominant Iraqi Constitution. Since their inclusion, they have been under constant threat by Sunnis who want to extinguish this process. So far, two Sunni men on the panel have taken the threats to their lives very seriously and removed themselves from the panel. One man Mijbil Isa distregarded the threats on his life and was shot (Along with two body guards) was assinated in a drive by shooting.
In other slaughterings, a bus of Iraqi workers headed to a US airbase was ambushed. 13 men were gunned down.
A roadside bomb killed a police officer and a civilian.
Have a nice day.
18 Die in Attacks across Iraq

Good Afternoon,
The people of Iraq continue to be attacked. Today 18 people died, mostly policemen including a police colonel. A couple municipal workers were killed as was a trade minister.
90+ Shite worshipers bombed, + 12 new deaths for Sunday

Saturday, death day in Iraq. A martyr bomber drove his vehicle into a fuel tank at a gas station in Baghdad, setting off a huge inferno. Over 90 people were killed. This gas station complex contained several restaurants with people in them.
Today, Sunday, 22 people were killed. A huge explosion occurred as worshippers were heading to sunset prayers and the street was bustling with families enjoying a stroll in the cool of the evening. Just another martyr bomber at work. Over 90 people were killed, and I'm not sure how many injured in this blast. The scene was something horrific, dazed people cried, beat themselves, and shivered, as body parts were scooped up off the blackened and molten rubble.
Have a nice day.
27 Iraqis killed, 12 children

Good morning.
As American soldiers were handing out candy to Iraqi children from their Humvee, a martyr bomber bolted his bomb laden car into the scene and ended up killing one US troop and 12 children. A total of 27 people in that incident died, and another 21 wounded. Residents in this extremely impovershed E. Baghdad neighborhood were stunned.
The last major bombing of children occured last Sept. when 35 children died as they were being handed candy from American Troops at a government sponsored new sewer plant inguration in West Baghdad. In that attack, Iraqis blamed the US military for attracting insurgents to the ceremony.
To do a little catching up here, last Sunday, 25 people were killed as another martyr car bomber drove his bomb on wheels into a crowd at an Iraqi army recruitment center.
Last Wednesday a 7 year old was killed and a woman badly injured because of a roadside bomb.
The death count in London rose to 52 as they continued to assemble body parts.
Here is the latest count:
Since April 28th, aprox. 1,600 in Iraq have been killed by insurgents.
52 in London have been killed by insurgents.
O in America have been killed by insurgents.
That's it for now, more news at 11.
50 and counting

Good morning,
As body parts are being reassembled, the death toll in yesterdays bombings in London has risen to 50. This number is expected to grow. Part of the problem is that because the bomb in the double decker bus basically tore apart the bus like a tin can, the bodies inside were blown to smiterines, making the identification a horror.
Officials have found timers at some of the bomb sites, and have not ruled out that there were no suicide bombers among the dead.
Over 700 people were injured in the blasts, of which 22 are in critical condition.
The bombs used were estimated to be aproximately 10 lbs. each.
Have a nice day.
37 Dead London Bombings/700+Injured

Good morning,
Why does the fact that 4 bombings in London (3 on subways and one on a double decker bus) send more chills down your spine and make you far more scared and angry than when it happens in Iraq? Answer, because we like the Brits, and we feel close to their culture. They feel like part of our family, and this attack on them feels a *****little******* too close to home. Now the US has stepped up the terror alert on its own transportation/subway/ train/bus systems. How does it feel?
When I first started this blog, I pointed out how US citizens are just numbified about the slaughtering of innocent victims/civilians in Iraq. Almost 2,000 Iraqis have been killed in bombings, etc.. since April 28th, 2005. But, for some ODD reason, many here feel that the Iraqi people there have made a sacrifice for their own good. Sacrifice for having a new democracy. Their sacrafice is for the US. Their sacrafice, as it turns out, is for Mr. Bush who's reason for attacking Iraq was to fight terrorists who hate the United States on "Their own soil" instead of on US soil.
As with the Iraqi victims, I am very sorry for the loss of innocent Brittish lives. This is yet another example of the horrifying fall out and prediciment Mr. Bush (And Tony Blair), has gotten it's citizens into as well as the citizens of Iraq.
Hey Mr. Bush. Happy day after your birthday. I hope all those little cuts and bruises are feeling much better today.
I'll keep the blog updated with fatalities and injuries from todays London bombings as well as any others that occur. Again, it is difficult to put a number on those dead until all the body parts have been counted for and assembled.
Count to now is 37 dead, and 700 injured. This figure will go up.
Have a nice day.
Happy Birthday Mr. Bush

Today is Mr. Bush's 59th birthday. He got a fun little surprise today when he collided with a police patrol on his bike in Scotland. Bush toppled, and scraped up his hands and knees. What do you know, his blood runs red just like the rest of ours.
I wonder how he is going to enjoy his 59th year, and how he is looking forward to his 60th. As old age begins to sink in with even more clarity, Mr. Bush has to once again feel in a most vulnerable position, fearing his own mortality. In his quest to change the world into his style of a democracy, he must, feel this task to be so great, and certainly place his name in the halls of immortality. Will he be forever remembered as the great savior doing gods work for the benefit of the world and freedom? In my deepest gut, I truly believe that he feels his work is the work of the noble, the immortal, and guided by God.
So, happy birthday Mr. Bush.
Sewer cocktail anyone?
Good Morning,This day as we drink our coffee, people in Baghdad are suffering a huge problem with their water supply. A power station that supplies Baghdad's water supply was set ablaze (not sure if it was an insurgent attack, or just a blown transformer). Repairs could take up to three days. That means that millions of people in Western and Northern Baghdad are flat out of drinking water and better buy some of the bottled stuff to tide them over. Some have complained over the last couple years that the water has smelled bad. Top engineers confirmed that there are parts where sewage is mixed into the water, thus the bad smell. Probably doesn't taste too healthy either *ewww*In other news, super influential Shiite Al Sistani's devoted aid of 10 years was gunned down along with two body guards and 4 others were injured. There have been 3 attacks on Sistani aids in recent weeks. Sistani must be pretty hunkered down these days... oh where or where could he be?
And then 5 masked gunmen (um, probably Shiites) ran into a Suni Mosque and kidnapped an imam, Sheik Tikriti during Friday prayers. I'd say he better pray pretty hard now.
Total thus far is 1,380 people consisting mostly of Iraq civilians and forces have been killed since April 28th.
As we wave "Ol Glory" this 4th of July weekend, please give pause to reflect on the effects of *our* flag on the land and lifes of the Iraqi people.
