"Is The Sacrafice Worth It?"
Mr. Bush,You asked yesterday is the sacrafice worth it? I'll tell ya what. Send your two daughters out there with the other women in Iraq, and then when you say yes it is worth it (as you did), then it will mean something to me.The only thing you have so far sacrificed in all this is your own credibility.
Wave em down - 17 POOF
"We fight today because terrorists want to attack our country and kill our citizens, and Iraq is where they are making their stand. So we will fight them there, we will fight them across the world and we will stay in the fight until the fight is won."That was an exerpt from Mr. Bush's speech last night. The Iraqis must love the US so much that they will allow their country to be the battlefield to protect Americans. On other soil, it is unknow what happened to the 17 US service members are now presumed dead after their US Chinook helicopter in Afghanistan was missled down. The Taliban gives themselves credit for this. A representative of theirs reported to the AP immediately after the heli went down.Tuesday's crash came after three months of unprecedented fighting that has killed about 465 suspected insurgents, 29 U.S. troops, 43 Afghan police and soldiers, and 125 civilians. I may have to start a new Afghan blog.
The Parliament Target

Good Morning,Today just one of the latest victims of martyr violence was Mr.Dhari Ali al-Fayadh, his son and two bodyguards. Dhari Ali, a prominent Shiite member of the new legislature, and former speaker, was in his late 80's and the eldest member of the assembly. He was traveling from the Parliament back to his Farm about 30 miles from Baghdad when a car bomber pulled his switch next to the motorcade. In other bombings... another car bomber killed 5 people and injured 9 others just yards away from the headquarters of an Iraqi quick-reaction police force in Baqouba.Another two US soldier was killed in a separate attacks. On another unrelated note... I'm compelled to mention that heir to the Walmart fortune, billionaire John Walton died when his homemade test aircraft plummetted to earth as he was taking off from Jackson Hole Wyoming. I wonder if in his last moments he gave any split second reflection of thought on how many people have been harmed by Walmart's bully practices throughout the United States. Besides displacing numerous mom and pop stores, Walmart would do everything in its power to hold itself harmless for injuries to its customers (including myself). True, while you can get a good cheap deal at that store, you have to watch your step (Literally), because if you get injured in that store because of an uncleaned/unkept floor, they won't even give you an asprin for your pain.Mr. Walmart, Mr. Walton, the universe has spoken loud and clear. I hope, that if there is another opportunity for you in the universe to learn a lesson about being good and fair to the small guys, and being compassionate to your customers, that you will do things ***very***** differently. One final note. Tonight Mr. Bush is going to try to justify why what the US is doing in IRAQ is the right thing. He will try to convince an American public of which the majority 56% feels Bush is not handling the Iraq situation well, that he is. The folks that voted for him just 6 months ago... take special note. It was because of you that this evil man continues to do the wrong thing. Shame on him, shame on you.
update 6-27-05
Hello,It turns out that of the 6 people killed in that convoy, 3 were women. I'm not sure why such a big deal was made about the gender, since Americans who enlist are well aware of the inherant risks of being sent into countries under occupation even if they are in non-combat positions. This last weekend was deadly. Last numbers were 33 Iraqis killed. Today a movie theatre was bombed, killing at least 5 Iraqi's and injuring dozens of others. Here are some up to date stats that might be of interest:1) 2,221 (or more) Iraqis have been killed since May 28 due to hostile actions2) 5,574 (or more) Iraqis have been injured since May 28th because of hostile actions.3) 1,74o American military have been killed since the US attack and subsequent occuption of Iraq4)There have been more than 484 car bombings since the government handover, April 28th.
5) Unemployment in Iraq as of May 05 has run from 27% - 40%6) The "insurgency" is estimated to include 16,000 Iraqis and foreign fighters, many of whom are homegrown factions and not associated with any particular group.7) A 11:00 curfew remains in effect in Baghdad.
Women Marines Killed
Good evening,
Body counts today are at 6. Two marines were killed when a car bomber slammed into a convoy of primairly women marines. At least one woman was killed and 11 of 13 wounded were female. The gender of all those killed has not yet been released, but it is presumed that there will be some more females in that body count. 1,731 US troops total have been killed since the US attacked Iraq, of which 36 have been women. 1,240 Iraqis have been killed since April 28th, 2005.
Gunmen today also killed an aide to Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, Iraq's most revered Shiite cleric. Police said two bodyguards were also killed trying to protect Shiite cleric Samara al-Baghdadi, who represented al-Sistani in Baghdad's predominantly Shiite al-Amin district.
The decapitated bodies of 8 men were also discovered today, six of whom were Shiite farmers. It remains amystery why these men were killed.
Explosive
Good morning,
Late Wednesday night, just before curfew (Which is 11:00pm Baghdad time), as citizens were out in the streets (primairly Shiite neighborhood) , in shops, enjoying their last unrestricted minutes of the day, a series of 4 car bomber martyrs drove up and and ignited themselves within minutes of each other, killing 23 people. At this point we don't have information on how many were injured.
And then today two martyr car bombers drove up outside of Shiite mosques and pulled the switch on themselves, killing an additional 15 people (Including 5 policemen). In this attack, the shreeks of a hysterical little boy pierced the air as he sat on a sidewalk next to his crumpled bicycle with his leg torn off below the knee. A man was next to him trying to comfort him. A total of 28 were "Wounded" in this attack.
Again, let us not forget that it is the "Wounded" and the survivors that have to live with the misery. For the dead, there is no misery.
Grand total for now is aprox. 1,240 Iraqi's dead since April 28, 2005.
Until tomorrow,
signing off.
Lights Out For Traffic Officers
Good Morning,
Today it is light's out for at least 15 Iraqi traffic officers (I'll revise the actual body count later when all the body parts have been assembled and accounted for) and 100 wounded when a martyr car bomber sped his vehicle into a roll count line outside the Units headquarters in the Kurdish city of Irbil.
Gunmen killed three members of the Kurdish Peshmerga militia today as well.
In other slaughtering news, insurgents boldly attacked a Baghdad police station with two martyr car bombers, mortars, rocket propelled grenades, and small arms fire, killing eight policemen and an 8 month old baby.
That's it for now.
Bang Kabob
Good Morning,Another lunch gone bad. At least 23 people were killed today as they sat down to chomp on their lamb and rice at a popular Iraqi dining establishment, Zanbour restaurant, located about 400 yards from the highly guarded "Green Zone". This restaurant was very popular among Iraqi security/policemen. Another 25 people were injured in this attack. A martyr bomber calmly walked in the restaurant with a hefty vest of explosive materials and pulled his own switch. Other deaths on Sunday in addition to the aformentioned included 18 civilians, two police officers and 2 soldiers.Latest count is 1,141 people killed since April 29th.In other news, insurgents blasted a water pipeline, and the 5 million residents of Baghdad have suffered a 24 hour water shortage. Oh yeah, to follow up from yesterday's blog... Turns out that so far 60 "Insurgents" have been killed and 100 taken into custody. Many houses have been blasted, and the US military has commanded all residents to leave their homes, waiving white flags. Talk about the luck of living in the wrong neighborhood. A 12 year old boy was snuffed out when an insurgents morter attack that was aimed at the govenors house went astray.
Oh.. btw, hope you have a happy father's day.
Operation "Spear"
Good evening,
In the last two days, aproximately 60 people have been killed in suicide attacks in Iraq.
In the meantime the US launched what is called "Operation Spear", bombarding a small dusty town boardering Syria. The US has captured thus far 100 people they label as insurgents. The US also launched airstrikes "precision guided munitions" to hit buildings "occupied by insurgents". Anybody shooting from a building is considered an "insurgent", and that building is immediately a target for US airstrike. I don't suppose that people in those buildings might have felt under attack and needed to try to defend or protect themselves. It looks like in Iraq, if you don't just lay on the ground when the US tromps into your town, roping up people,.. you too are considered an insurgent. Don't even try to defend yourself because you are a target. Well, who knows who is what, and how the US just seems to know, is beyond comprehension.
Now, as far as collateral damage goes, just yesterday the US admitted they killed a 10 year old Iraqi boy who just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. There is no telling who or how many people got killed in the airstrikes today, but I suppose we may find out a number eventually. Of course all those killed in the buildings the US will claim to be insurgent deaths. We can feel real good about that can't we?
On a slightly brighter note, it seems that people on the hill are beginning to realize that the US presence in Iraq is actually stirring up the insurgency rather than stiefling it (NO DUH.. oh people on the hill are so dam smart huh?)... Like CLUE PHONE.. and are beginning to put pressure on Bush to come up with some sort of exit time line. Even some republican "War" supporters are getting a bit sick of all of this. Anyway... if these people on the hill think that Mr. Entrenched in his own toxic swill, Bush, will show any sort of flexibility or come up with a time line, they may as well give it up. Mr. Bush, or shall I say Mr. Black and White Bush, does things only one way, and that is HIS way. The way of his own resolve. Let us not forget people, that Mr. Bush had to go cold turkey to finally give up alcohol and drugs. For him, there is no inbetween, it is black or it is white. You are either with us or you are against us, and god help you if you are labeled as being in the "Axis of evil". That's it for now. More news at 11 I suppose.
In the meantime, have a lovely evening.
Six plus 2 down
Good morning,
Six US service men were killed today as were two Iraqi policemen in bombing and shooting attacks. Another 25 or so were wounded.
It is believed that todays compromise deal/ agreement between Shite's and Sunni's which gives Sunni's a few more numbers in the development of the new Iraqi constitution will stop the "insurgent" violence that has been thought to be mostly by the minority Sunni.
So.. with this, we'll see how just fine and dandy things will be for the upcoming months. I know that Bush can hardly wait to pull out of the mess he has made, even though he *still* refuses to put out a timeline to pull out US forces. He thinks that if he tells insurgents when the US is leaving that they will just wait for the US to pull out and then obliterate Iraq. Mr. Bush will find that these "Insurgents" or "Radicals", have patience that transends time. Does he not realize, that no matter when the US pulls out, even if the Iraqi forces are able to "Protect" the citizens of Iraq on their own, that insurgent forces will continue until the bitter end of civilization and there will be a continuous civil battle, struggle, and bloodshed?
On that note, have a nice day. More at 11, no doubt.
26 + 36 = 62 down for the day
Good afternoon,
Another 36 Iraqi's were killed today (in addition to the 26 earlier today). This time Iraqi's were blown apart by a martyr car bomber who drove his vehicle into a police patrol in Baghdad. .Where there is the will, there is a way, and the will is there and they certainly have the way.
I'll report more as the numbers come in.
Todays Menu, Sloppy Joes
Good morning,Another male martyr bomber clothed in military attire flipped his switch in the middle of an Iraqi mess hall. He blew himself to smitherines killing at least 25 Iraqi military. Another aproximate 27 were injured. This dude managed to wear and conceal 110 lbs of explosives. So far about 1,042 Iraqis have been killed since April 28th. On another note, a 7.0 earthquake hit about 60 miles off the coast of northern california. Sunami warnings were immediately broadcasted, but thankfully the warning was quickly lifted. Everyone is still high and dry in California, and for you people outside of California who just know that California is going to fall off and disappear into the vastness of the Pacific ocean, guess what, lol, we're still here. Can't get rid of us that easily.Have a nice day..... and to the people in Iraq, keep your head up, because I promise, the citizens there are going to continue to be used for target practice for a long time to come.
Ajax
Today once again the streets are covered with blood in Iraq. Killing 23 people and injuring about 100, a martyr bomber lined with explosives put himself right outside a bank where Iraqi citizens were lined up to get their checks and flipped his switch. Boom. That's it, keep the change. In Baghdad 24 male bodies who were killed in ambushes were brought to a hospital. I'm guessing we'll soon find out who these men were and whether or not they were security, military or civilians. And a martyr car bomber drove into an Iraqi check point, obliterating himself and 5 soldiers and injuring another couple of people.Today Michael Jackson spends his first full day as a free man after being found "Not guilty" on 10 counts, including molesting a 13 year old boy cancer patient. The jury said that there was not enough proof that Mr. Jackson committed the molestation. There was also apparently not enough proof that Mr. Jackson dispensed "Jesus Juice" to minors. Michaels lawyer stated that Mr. Jackson will no longer invite children to sleep with him in his bedroom. Hot dam and hallelujah.
Sunday Update 6-12-05
Good morning,With over 37 people killed so far this weekend, the total number killed since April 28 has been aprox 930.In the meantime there is shall we say a slight struggle writing the Iraqi constitution because of the marginalization that the Sunnis feel in this process. More news at 11 I suppose.Have a lovely day.
Just another Wednesday
Good Afternoon,Just a note that insurgent men killed nine Iraqis. The bodies of six others were found today as well. Four US soldiers were killed in three seperate attacks north of Baghdad. How was your Wednesday?
Lightning
Good Morning,After a brief reprive these past few days, martyrs are back in action. The latest count is 32 dead in four well timed bombings. In the meantime the "Operation Lightning" which has created an additional 680 mobile and 194 permanent checkpoints around Baghdad to help protect the capital has been achieved. They have arrested about 900 people. All these raids and arrests have fueled sectarian tensions between the majority Sunni sector as they claim they have been targeted in this operation. The Bush administration feels that once Saddam's trial gets underway in the next couple of months that insurgent attacks will diminish greatly. Surely, once the people and martyrs realize the atrocities that Saddam did while he held power will quell their desire to uphold what Allah would have. Don't you think? That's it for now. Until further updates, signing off.
Quran Pissed On, Not Flushed
OK folks,Let's get it straight. Remember when the administration told Newsweek to retract its article about the Quran being flushed down the toilet by a Gitmo soldier? The administration said that article ignited an outpouring of hatred towards the US and resulted in the deaths of about 15 people caught up in the US hate demonstrations in Afghaistan. Well.. guess what, it now turns out that the administration confirmed various incidents, including a guard's urine came through an air vent and splashed on a detainee and his Quran. Also water ballons hit a Quran, and another report (Not yet verified) says that two American profanities were written on the face of the Quran. Amazing how this "new" information was released after normal business hours on Friday night, and after the major networks had aired their evening news programs. This information was a result of last months investigation by Brig. Gen. Jay Hood, the commander of the detention center in Cuba.Let us talk about the Guard who's piss, flew in through a vent to land on a prisoner and his Quran. The guard apparently left his tower to piss outside like a dog, and guess what, the piss just happened to blow in the vent "by the wind" which just happened to land on the prisoner and his Quran.Shame on you Newsweek for getting it wrong!!! It was urine and water and profanities.. not a flushing!Let the riots begin.............. Again. Don't fret, the news will come out, even after normal business hours.
PS. The man who pissed like a dog, was not put into the pound, but was assigned to gate guard duty where he would not have any contact with prisoners.
My wish for the day: May the wind blow on Mr. Bush's, Cheney and Rumsfeld's face and soak their soul-less bodies.
18 Month Summary
Quick summary:According to AP News, in the last 18 months 12,000 Iraqi civilians have been killed of which aprox. 10,000 were Shiites.
FRY DAY
Good Morning Everyone!
Today the count goes up to aprox. 825 dead since the establishment of the new Iraqi government on April 28th. The latest victims were simple Iraqi citizens in a small town north of Baghdad. They were just minding their own business when a martyr bomber took out 10 Iraqi's plus himself. The thing I don't understand, and if you know I'd sure like to know, do the death counts involve the martyrs also?
In any case, this makes the last full day one of the bloodiest since 4/28 in Iraq, with a total of aprox. 50 killed.
One thing I appreciate is the front page coverage all this bloodshed is getting in our national news. I hope the AP and agencies that cover all of this keep it up and in detail. I think the more personal (eg. names, occupations, age,) that are put out there, the better. You see, most folks here in the US find it very difficult to *relate* to the Iraqi citizens, so I want to give them a name, and a personal story, and how, why, when, where they were killed. Let the facts roll out, and let the light shine bright on the situation there.
Mr. Bush, your light is incredibly dim. Mr. Bush thinks that things are and will get better. Sir, we will see. In the meantime, keep up your positive face. Isn't it so easy when it is not your relatives, your life, your children, or your country that is under seige. Don't even tell me that Iraq had anything to do with our country being under seige, you know much better than that sir. I will say one thing though, by attacking an innocent country, you have shined the light on the idiocy of your own regime, and have ignited a hatred toward the US that is unsurpassed. Your fear of being under seige (or your father being a target), has created not a democratic Iraq, but has created a self fulfilling prophecy of making the US a much hated country, with a huge target which will be under seige in a way that few would imagine. US haters will never forget what you did Mr. Bush. Never.
On that note, back to work.
Dealt A Blow
Good Morning,Well, June is here and it is the beginning of another brutal month in Iraq. Let's see, in the headlines this morning, another series of attacks kills 39 Iraqis. During the past few days, three children, a US soldier and Sunni Muslim cleric were killed. To date, since the establishment of the new Iraqi government (April 28th) almost 814 people in Iraq have been destroyed. The number injured have not been reported, but likely around 2,000 - 3,000. Mr. Bush said that the Iraqis delt the evil-doers and democracy haters a major blow when they had their elections. Although the insurgents were able to kill only about 40 on election day, they have been achieving their goal of payback to the Iraqi people. This morning, the three seemingly random attacks occured at a restaurant, a market and a coffee shop. How do Iraqi's go out of their homes, I have no idea. Each and every voter is a possible victim there, it is no longer just the police and military.Mr. Bush feels that eventually Iraq police and military will be built and equipped enough to take on the what is now a war going on in their country. Mr. Cheney feels that much progress will be made by 2009 when Bush finally leaves office. These men have such short term vision. Does the President and his puppet master not understand the spirit of these "insurgents"? These people NEVER forget and will NEVER forget what has happened and will litter the streets with the scraps of thousands upon thousands of believers and US haters before they give up their cause. Face it, this is just another month of devistation. I'll be reporting on it when I can find the time and fortitude. Today my thoughts go to those thousands of innocent victims who managed to survive the devistation with injuries. I cannot imagine what some of these folks have to live through.. blindness, ear drums blown out, limbs lost, scars, cuts and gashes, burns, broken bones.Signing off for now.....
