17 Killed, 26 Wounded, And A Thanksgiving Note

Good morning,
Today a martyr car bomber attacked a police patrol on a busy commercial street, killing at least 21 people and wounding 24, officials said. The attackers lured the patrol to the scene by shooting a policeman, officials said. The suicide bomb struck as the investigation was under way. Police Capt. Farhad Talabani said the bombing took place on a road leaving Kirkuk, 180 miles north of Baghdad. About half of the victims killed were civilians, the other half policemen.
This will likely be my last entry before the Thanksgiving holiday. I will resume and try to catch up as best as possible on Monday, Nov. 28th.
At this time of year, people in the US reflect and give thanks for our abundance. I feel so much more than a pang of guilt, as I give thanks to my fortunate life, while there are so many in Iraq suffering. In keeping this log, I try to honor the innocent victims in Iraq who did not sign into service, but who ended up losing their lives for a "Democracy" which may or may not take root. Let us never forget, that the innocent people who lost and continue to lose their lives, were and are a result of a "War" which was really a USA attack, that occured under absolutely false pretenses that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. The US did not unleash a war/attack on Iraq in the name of democracy. If indeed Mr. Bush launched this attack on Iraq in the name of democracy, how DARE he assert his values onto that of another country without their explicit agreement for him to do so. It is "democracy" that the US Administration now focuses on, as it tries like hell to squirm away from its obligation to the American and Iraq citizens the truth about what it did to manipulate, cherry pick and hide crucial intelligence information and analysis about WMD that eventually fueled the decision among those in Congress to give Mr. Bush authorization to attack Iraq.
So, as I rest in the dawn of yet another Thanksgiving, I will deeply feel and carry with me a very special feeling and as close to an unconditional love as I can possbily feel, for the people who have had their world and lives forever changed. To Mr. Bush, I bestow him a silver bowl of cherries rather than cranberries to go along with his turkey. Without a doubt he will pick the cherries that best suit him, and leave the rest of us with the pits.
Have a nice day.
